You are invited to visit Torrey Trails RV and Golf Resort - a luxury, active, adult RV Resort located in Bowling Green, Florida. This secure, gated RV community is located in the south Florida countryside where fresh air is plentiful and traffic jams are scarce. With an on-site golf course, 65,000-gallon custom heated pool, nature preserve, 3-mile hiking trail, and fantastic amenities this is an RV experience that is second-to-none. We are locally owned and operated by people who truly care about our guests, our facilities, and the experience you'll have when you stay with us. Come and see for yourself why life is better below the Florida Freeze Line at Torrey Trails!
Torrey Trails is a nice place, we are only staying for a a few days to explore winters in Florida so we do not have a whole lot of experience as snow birds. We came here mostly to play golf, the course is great for entry level players & it’s seems maintained ok…. But for experienced/ higher end golfers it may be disappointing. The sites are beautiful & the facilities seem like they will be great when completed, the pool looks beautiful ( hot tub not hot enough for me in early December) no bath house, so you will not have a dressing facility at the pool area. The negatives to us are: 1. no trash pick up- you must take to only 1 compactor on site 2. there are only 4 pickle ball courts for such large facility 3. the Wi-Fi is non existent, I received an email prior to arrival with info on hookup instructions for routers, however being new to RV’ing we don’t own one yet and we were only temporarily staying so assumed we would just use the campground wifi or our phone data plan. Not realizing we need signal for the data to stream! After arriving we were told we could log into the free wifi, but there was barely a signal & we were only set up 200 yards from the reception center! 4. Lastly, not much to do in this area, very remote location with barely any restaurant or shopping choices! Overall, a clean & maintained park, and the residents seems very friendly, we just would prefer to be closer to things to do outside the RV community.
This place is a joke, please don't waste your time and money here. This is by no means a 5-star Resort. Owners and Management don't deliver what they advertise. Don't let the palm trees and pool and advertising fool you. If you visit, walk around area and buildings and check out the lack of cleanliness. Advertise cable tv, internet and you have none of this. They have 2 washers and 2 dryers for 368 sites. We spent 4 months here from November 2022 through February of 2023 and the negatives here by far out way the few positives. Everything here is going to get done next week per staff and owners. Water from the sprinkler system smells like its coming from unmaintained drainage ponds. Certain employees in office can be very rude. Activities director has no idea what she is doing and terrible at scheduling activities. They will nickel and dime you to death on 50/50 raffles at least twice a week and the other half goes back to the park for activities you already paid for and for park improvements. Nature trail they advertised was not completed for 3.5 months we were there and a lot of it had to be done by guests. This park is in the middle of nowhere and if you want to shop you have to go 25 to 30 miles away. The road noise on highway 17 is unbearable. This park has potential to be very special but not under current owners and management. Nice pool and pavilion, large lots and friendly guests but that’s about it. They will lie to you and next day deny it. Now let’s talk about the trash; when we first arrived, there were 2 Dumpsters which were always overflowing with trash. They did try to rectify the situation by getting a trash compactor which seemed to work for a while but broke down 3 times while we were there (due to improper use by residents) and everyone had to put their trash on a trailer while compactor was being repaired. Now, this would have been okay if the trailer would have been parked in the storage area away from RV sites but it wasn’t. It was parked across from RV sites where residents had to smell and look at it for days. Please see pictures. If you are looking for a real RV resort… this is NOT IT!
My husband is handicapped and I asked the owners Jeff and Bill if they would order a special exercise bike so my husband was able to use it. He ordered it that day. He has been using it daily. We have been he since the beginning of this park and it is a wonderful place to stay.
We spent Dec 2022 through April here and enjoyed it so much we signed a 3 year lease and hope to continue after that. We found the office staff, maintenance and other workers to be friendly and accommodating. The folks here short and long term are friendly and outgoing. Its very easy to develop long term friendships.
The nine hole golf course has been improving. Its very convenient and they're trying to make it better, but a slow process.
The pool is large and nice along with a hot tub. They've had some issues with the HT and parts seemed to be an issue. Anyone who's tried to get any type of replacement parts knows it can be challenging.
They are working on a bathhouse, laundry, workout room that has yet to be finished, though it was expected to be done. From what I see it looks like it's moving along and should be operational soon.
The recently broke ground and poured the foundation for a new clubhouse. I'm not sure when its to be completed as its being worked on.
They have a nice pavilion for gatherings with a bar! They serve mostly beer & wine though I'd like to see other liquor its not easy to get that license. Hopefully perhaps one day. I enjoy meeting others there for conversation and drinks
Two nice, large fenced dog parks, one for small and one large dogs. They have water for the pups. Its a nice place to let them run and chat with friends. It would be nice to have a dog park at the other end of the resort as its about a mile from the back of the resort to the park.
Our lot is near the exit only at the back of the park. Its quiet with limited out only traffic though we were told it was an emergency exit only. The speed limit in the park is 15 mph which pretty fast, though some seem to exceed it on a regular basis, though not the Resorts fault.
They have some growing pains however thats expected new resorts. Phase 2 in the back was just opened this years. They did nice landscaping and put sod down to minimize mud. There is a sprinkler system for the landscaping and they were working on timers.
Yes this resort is away from major cities and thats what we like. Punta Gorda about 50 minutes away if you want a beach. Tampa, Ft Myers, Sarasota, Clearwater and others with an hour and a half or less. There are grocery stores. Tractor Supply, Walmart and more within 15 minutes. The locals are friendly and helpful.
After traveling the NE this year we're looking forward to our return in Nov, catching up with old friends and making new.!
