I have gone to this place for years. The area is beautiful and the free camping along the river is amazing and kinda secret. However for the convenience of bathrooms we normally stay at the sight. For years it has been this elderly couple that were amazing people and it was run wonderfully.

This year, this is a younger women that had a family. We had more difficulties with her than we ever have had camping. I don't think she is a bad person but she doesn't understand the availabile but hands off method of camp hosting.

It makes me sad to give this buautful place 3 stars, but you should skip it and go to Blue lakes.

Beautiful. First day of camping season. We came from Illinois there's nothing like the California sky at night. Campground was clean clearly marked and the hosts were very friendly and helpful.

My family and I have camped here annually for the last three years. The first two years were great! The bathrooms were always clean enough and the campground is calm and family friendly.

I just returned home from this year's annual family camping trip. Unfortunately, I don't have the same glowing review to share as usual.

The camp host this year is a MISERABLE creep of a woman. She has no issues navigating that campground circle with a golf cart for the better part of each day. But when it comes to campground maintenance, she could use a refresher course. The bathroom floors were covered in dozens of flies and the trash dumpsters were overflowing. The. entire. weekend.

The kicker: After we requested she, the camp host, clean the bathroom, she LOCKED it. I kid you not. She locked the bathroom and marked it closed for the entire day to spite us.

What a far cry from the friendly woman last year that decorated pinecones and handed them out to the guests :)! Now, that lady was a delight!

Nov 2023, Road conditions are great. No snow on road just a dusting on the peaks and occasionally next to the road.
