A little gem a short distance off of I-20. My stay was for two nights. The sand dunes were beautiful and fun to walk on. The rest room and shower facility was clean. The staff helpful and friendly.

This is a great spot for children to play and adults to relax.

The environment is very unique, most of the rangers and staff are very friendly, and for families with children, I'm sure this is a fantastic place for them to visit. The kids I saw here loved going down the dunes on the sleds. Camping in the sand was a very unique experience, and it is always amazing to see how life can thrive, regardless of the environment. It's definitely a great place for families. If you're a hiker, the park is on the small side, so be prepared for that. They have great displays in the visitors center as well, it's well worth a visit.

We camped in our skoolie here for two nights and the kids had a blast. You can rent sleds from the visitor center for pretty cheap and keep them for your entire visit (think it was $6/sled). Clean campground and really cool campsite being by the sand. We also got some awesome sunrise and sunsets while there

Imagine a serene scene with a Swiss campervan parked for the night amidst vast sand dunes. The atmosphere is calm and magical, perfect for a night under the stars. Nearby, sandy trails meander through the dunes, offering a playful and unique jogging experience. The area boasts good infrastructure, ensuring all essentials are available. Beautiful vistas of the desert-like landscape extend in every direction, providing a sense of isolation and tranquility. Despite being close to the interstate, there's a blissful absence of traffic noise, enhancing the peaceful ambiance. This setting captures a one-of-a-kind desert experience, combining convenience with the beauty of nature.

Such an amazing stop on our way back from Big Bend returning to Dallas. We stopped across the street and grabbed Subway and ate lunch in the park, and sled around for a while. It was a great way to break up a long trip and the rangers and employees there were unbelievably friendly! Genuine, kind people are so hard to come by these days and these ladies were awesome. A must see for anyone driving by!!!
