About Campground

Inks Lake State Park is great for a day trip or a weekend getaway. Because the lake’s level usually stays constant, you can play here year-round.

Inks Lake camping offers many activities such as backpack, geocache, play volleyball, picnic, and observe nature. We have 9 miles of hiking trails through shady forests and across rocky hills. Hike Pecan Flats, a self-guided 3.3-mile trail that is perfect for the whole family, or stop by our bird blind. Rent our group picnic pavilion for your next family reunion. Take a virtual tour with our interactive trails map.

On the water, you can swim (no lifeguards on duty), boat, water ski, scuba dive and fish. We have set aside a large, no-wake zone for paddling.

Stay at one of nearly 200 campsites or 22 cabins (two are ADA-accessible). Many sites are lakeside or have easy access to the lake. Several camping loops have playgrounds. Sponsored youth groups can rent our youth group camping area.

This is a very nice park with amenities. Great for families. Lots of trails to explore, and none of them are too strenuous. Water is crystal clear, and you can rent kayaks and use the parks fishing gear. Overall, it was an awesome experience.

We loved this state park and will definitely come again. The sites have ample space, many are water and electric and lots of water only sites. Most sites will require some leveling. Great place to ride bikes, kayak or canoe. There are some older shower houses with restrooms as well as some newer ones. Nice hiking trails. Great park store where you can rent kayaks, and borrow fishing gear. Close to two towns with restaurants and grocery stores.

Inks lake is an absolutely beautiful state park!

Family friendly, and a great place to go to!

The rangers did a fishing program and they did an amazing job. They had stations teaching youth about the laws regarding fishing, the fish, the rod, then they gave everyone who showed up their very own foldable fishing rod to take home! It was an amazing learning experience and I hope they continue to do it.

The camp sites are a little awkward if you have a large group however, there were picnic tables and grills at every spot as well as very nice bathrooms with showers.

They have a general store, kayak and canoe rentals, 2 parks, fishing spots.

Out of all the state parks I've been to this one has to be my favorite.

All and All I highly recommend coming here!

We really enjoyed our time hiking at Inks Lake State Park. The trails were a great variety of lakes, forest, rocks, and desert. We ended up hiking 5.5 miles using several of the well marked trails. This park has a huge amount of campsites for people interested in camping, all that seemed nice. Very nice State Park, highly recommended for hiking day trip.

One of my favorite local camping spots in the Austin and surrounding area. The water is great for swimming, kayaking, fishing. The grounds are well maintained with nice showers and restrooms. Do some research before you book, I assure you not all campsites are equal but there's plenty of great options with water and electric or primitive if you want privacy.
