About Campground

Grey and Pam Hill created Rocky Hill Ranch in 1993 and opened it up to mountain bikers and other trail users. It soon became known as one of the first and best mountain bike ranches in Texas. The Hills left ranch operations to a number of lease-holders over the years. After starting and operating a successful business on the Texas coast they have headed for the highlands and are actively running Rocky Hill Ranch again.

First time there. I know according to regulars that they have lost several of the old loved trails but there was plenty existing and new trail cut in to give me and my group plenty of work out.

Had a great time riding here. They have water coolers placed every so often to refill water. The ups were tough but going down was so fun.

After the land sale they lost all the trails worth riding. A lot of work has been done to add new trails and that’s appreciated but there’s nowhere left to build and it’s now just a bunch of switchbacks and feels very repetitive and contrived. I used to drive 2 hours each way to ride here but I don’t think I’ll ever be going back. If you live nearby and you need a good workout it’s fine but no longer a destination.
