I almost don't want to write this, as I fear if the Inn becomes too popular, we will have trouble booking a stay in the future! We absolutely loved our stay at the Steamboat Inn. We stayed in a cabin, and the view of the river behind the Inn is stunning. The property is tucked away in the Umpqua National Forest and is close to several great hiking spots to beautiful waterfalls. Wifi reception does not reach to the cabins, but that actually made things even better - we felt totally relaxed. The bed was comfortable and the room had so many nice touches. We ate at the restaurant twice - once for lunch and once for dinner. The restaurant is incredible and we were honestly shocked by this because of the remote location - major compliments to the chef and kitchen staff. We were also very impressed by the wine program! Finally, each Inn staff member that we came in contact with was very kind. It seems that so much care is taken in every aspect of running this Inn and we definitely plan to come back and stay longer next time.
We stayed in one of the cabins (Hayden's Run) across the river from the main Inn. The house was great, with plenty of room, central heating (plus a wood stove), full kitchen, and laundry.
The sound of the river is so nice to fall asleep to!
We will definitely stay again if we're in the area.
We had a lovely time at Steamboat Inn. Upon arrival the six of us were sat for dinner. The menu is simple, but the food is regional and delicious and the service was observant. The dining room is intimate, I’m sure our party of six was distracting to other diners, mostly couples. After dinner we enjoyed some delicious pie for desert.
Checking in to our cabana, two of our pert headed out to camp nearby and four of us arrived at a quaint two story two bedroom cabin. It was lovely, comfy beds, stocked kitchen, lots of paintings of trout.
I recommend this place, it’s great.
We stayed in a cabin and absolutely loved it. The scenery around the cabin and inn is stunning. The drive to hike many waterfalls is short and scenic. The breakfast at the restaurant was wonderful and they were able to accommodate for food allergies. The staff was friendly and helpful. I highly recommend staying at the Steamboat Inn. I added a couple of pictures of nearby waterfalls but didn't get any of our room or view from the Inn.
I was reviewing the Umpqua Rogue Scenic byway and what was along the route and came across the Steamboat in. After a week in wine country in Southern Oregon it seemed like a nice retreat before returning back to Portland. It delivered cozy, rustic, and welcoming vibes. I was very excited for dinner but was sad that the menu was limited but did understand as it was the last weekend of the season. The library was also closed to guests due to staffing but I would defiantly come back when the inn is running in full force in the summer perhaps. It was so clean, they had the place warm when we arrived and a fire ready to go, even has robes! Highly recommend for romantic getaway or family bonding.
