Better from mid April. No bank fishing right now. Too high. If you got a little paddle boat it's great.

Camped there twice this summer and absolutely loved it. Nice trail head, the campground has sites with river front view. Boat and lake access with sand from coast

The Carter Dunes Trail takes you through a forest, sand dunes, beachgrass, and to a windy beach.

The trailhead is in the campground for Carter Lake and has a parking lot next to it.

The trail will take you to a three way junction, go right for the Taylor Dunes.

The sandy trail is not easy to walk on and it can be very hot hiking through the open dunes.

You will not find towering dunes, but the Carter Dunes are perfect for most people.

A five dollar fee is payable in cash at the self service fee station as you enter the campground.

Located south of Sitcoos Beach about 7.5 miles from Florence.

A nice place to spend the afternoon hiking though forests, sand dunes and the beach.

I love the camp sight but it's to cold here. 65 for the high in Aug is to cold for me. But I did catch some nice fish . Packed up and left a day early because it's to cold and windy here.

Beautiful hike to a secluded beach. Mornings are the best time to catch the wildlife and enjoy a walk with less wind. The trek back is pretty tough up a few steep dunes.
