This recreation area is part of Hartwell Lake
From I-85: Take exit 1 onto Hwy 11 toward Walhalla. Drive ½ mile and look for park sign on the left.
Beautiful state park just on the SC/GA line. You can fish, swim, camp, and paddle and also rent a rod and reel for free from the office. We stayed on a camper cabin, which has a double bed and bunk beds with mattresses, wifi, heat/air, and a little porch. There is a picnic table, fire ring, and grill also. Ours was on the water and really beautiful. Our cabin didn't allow pets but other camper cabins at the park do. Great park!
This state park is beautiful. We came here on a Friday, it wasn’t busy at all. We did some fishing and a little hiking and a little relaxation.
We did the nature trail today and it was an easy little hike for the kids and the view of the lake was beautiful the trail was well marked and maintained.be sure to watch for all the orb weaver spider webs they are all over. The kids and dogs did enjoy themselves though. Nothing like some free nature!!
Our family of 4's 2nd stop on our mission to visit every state park in SC. We woke up to a beautiful view of the lake from our camper. A perfect trail to the lake right beside our site and the beach area is gorgeous. Here until Sunday, and we have already booked a trip to come back in April!
