Welcome to At The Ridge Campground
“Simple Mountain Camping” is our motto. Located approximately seven miles from the Blue Ridge Parkway, At the Ridge Campground is surrounded by North Carolina’s beautiful Pisgah National Forest and the North Fork River. Here you can experience what you came to the Great Smoky Mountains for: crisp evenings, sitting around the campfire, excellent views, relaxing in nature, hiking to waterfalls & fishing, Don’t forget our favorite, just watching the water go by!

We rented the entire campground to celebrate my boyfriends 30th birthday here with our friends. Danielle and Chris are great !! This place is very accommodating. Bathrooms are clean, property is dog friendly, & they have beautiful water views from the porches. I will definitely be back. Thank you so much
Great place to stay! Everything was as it was described/appeared In photos. This was our second stay and will definitely be back. There is some construction going on with improvements but we weren’t disturbed at all. Can’t wait to see when it’s finished. The creek is beautiful and peaceful. The host was friendly and informative. It really is the perfect place to be if you don’t want to lug everything that comes with tent camping or are on a budget.
Tom was a great host who was accommodating, friendly, and very knowledgeable about the area. The campground was very pretty with the feeling of being out in the middle of nowhere but only a 30 minute drive to town/activities. Would definitely recommend and come again!
I have to say I didn’t have the same experience as other folks who reviewed. I am going to start with the positives- loved camping right next to the stream and enjoyed the quiet of the area. Bathhouse was clean and I wasn’t scared to use it. Cindy was very friendly. This is a great place if you are just looking for a place to lay your head while you enjoy adventures in the area. This is less of a campground and more of a family property that folks are trying to turn into a camping area. I will say that we tent camped rather than cabin camped. There are several old stationary RVs on property that give it a sketchy feeling. There is no check in office so you must rely on an email (that doesn’t provide tent guidance, only cabin guidance), there is no map or direction for guidance for tent sites. If you do get a tent site and expect electricity you will need to bring at least 125ft outdoor cord to reach your tent sites. The water is located in the same place but water was never turned on for us, seemingly it is a house connected to the main house. There seems to be a lot of junk piles and construction going through the property. Earlier review said it should be completed by 4/2023, we visited 11/2023. There is no privacy between sites and you are pretty much in full display. There are also cameras everywhere. I wouldn’t seek this place out to enjoy the activity of camping. This also isn’t a great place for kiddos. Also, if I was traveling alone without my husband or just with another female, I wouldn’t have felt comfortable. So I think what is posted online is a misrepresentation of what is actually on site.
We stayed in cabin 6 which was a quaint rustic cabin on the water with a serene and picturesque setting. At The Ridge offered a unique opportunity to enjoy nature while still having basic amenities. The cabin was clean and had essential appliances like an in wall heating/air conditioning unit, refrigerator, microwave and coffee pot. There was also a nearby shower, bath house, and water spigot. We did bring our own sheets, blankets and pillows. The owner Tom was a generous host who maintains the grounds and ensured we had everything we needed.
