Sipsey Wilderness Area is a hikers paradise! Hiking trails in all directions, Waterfalls are abundant, Kayaking and canoeing down the river, Picnicking, camping and beautiful scenery are som of the things to do while in the Wilderness.

Trail 209 crosses the river and you have to follow feeder creek. Trail signs when you reach the creek are missing someone wrote 201 and not 201 on them. We saw big cat tracks then following game trail as we were unable to cross the river due to water being up high and fast after recent storm so we were following sipsey river to trail 202. We came across a fresh hog kill. This is a wild area always keep this in mind when hiking. We had to go over brush and through dead fall. Kept thinking what trail is that across the river after checking map it was 209 just couldn't reach it you cross at the bottom of 209 then cross back to reach trail 202 hope other trail still has trail sign to let people know to cross. We had to do alot of wondering around to find it. Still beautiful lots of rock, flowers, and waterfalls.

It was absolutely beautiful, and peaceful. The water was really low, but we found a great spot where it was still running enough for us to filter some water. No filter needed for beautiful pictures.
