We are a small family owned property located in the beautiful flint river in Brownsboro Alabama. We are just 15 minutes from downtown Huntsville. We have three decks with beautiful teepees on them as well as five designated primitive spots. We have canoes available, as well as shuttle service.
Turn right by the sign before the railroad tracks
Great camp spot, refreshingly clean showers, portapottys well maintained, dog friendly.
Booked a last minute tandem kayak, was dropped off and it was the most beautiful and relaxing ride, the current did all the work!
Also got some fantastic recommendations for dinner from the team, we took our pup out and had a brilliant night.
Had a great Father’s Day weekend! Love that weekends are first come, first serve. Even though we came after noon we were still able to get kayaks on Saturday. Super friendly and helpful staff and definitely want to make some more future trips out at this hidden gem. Thanks for the memories!
Our new favorite place to kayak the Flint River. Super helpful and friendly and reasonably priced.
We called them for pickup at the power lines and Champ was there waiting with the van just past Little Cove Road @ McMullen Bridge.
Planning on going again tomorrow!
I’ve stayed at TGL on several occasions. The Tee Pee’s are an awesome experience. From the decor to the outdoor showers they are joy to stay in. While you’re there go for a float on the Flint River. TGL has kayak and tube rentals or you can bring your own or use their shuttle service which is very convenient. My stays there have all been very peaceful and pleasant. Kinda why we go camping right. The staff are super friendly and helpful. 10 outta 10. I’ll definitely be back many more times.
Great experience! Very friendly staff and so very helpful! We had our own boats and they had us back up to the load in point and helped unload them. Moved the truck to parking where they’d drop us off after. Door to door service!
We just did a shuttle service, and it was the best we’ve encountered on the Flint! We phoned as we got to the overhead power lines near McMullen Bridge on Little Cove Rd and Champ was there waiting for us! Got us loaded up and on the way before the skies opened up! Perfect!
They use Perception Tribe kayaks - good solid and sturdy boats that will handle this float well (we also have Perception kayaks). All appear to be in great shape. This section of the Flint generally flows well, but there are a few spots where you can bottom out. Watch the water and you can avoid most of them - we never had to get out to drag the boats.
We didn’t try the teepees but they looked nice and sat on decks overlooking the river. They have more plans for camping coming so keep that in mind too.
They also do special trips like full moon floats and trash pickup days, which has special rates, so check out and follow their social media pages for info and timing on those!
All in all, a great day on the water and a great team over at TGL Adventures! Definitely on our list to visit again and again!
Edit: we had so much fun yesterday we went back with our daughter for another fun day! Very bit as fun today and the crew was just as nice and professional as ever. This is going to become our go to place! We don’t rent their gear but our daughter did and it was in great shape. Whether renting or bringing your own, getting into the water is easy and trouble free. Zero stress. Easy to park the truck.
And after the float they have got showers and changing areas near the loading area so you can get cleaned up after if you’re going to get lunch or dinner after. Very nice and a great added bonus to this place.
If you want a place to float the Flint, this place needs to be at the top of your list!!!
