While the area is having major trail (boardwalk) remodeling work completed at this time, it was still a wonderful experience and much appreciated break from the heat.
I can only imagine how much nicer it will all be once the new boardwalks are all in place. On a future trip to the SLC area, I plan to take my father, who uses a power wheelchair, to this location.
A bit stormy today, but it's worth it! We seen a family of moose.
The trail was a bit muddy, and the bugs were out full force! But it smelled so beautiful and it was such a nice evening. Great trail. The parking is under construction, so it is a bit rough at the moment.
A beautiful, easy and well paved walking trail up in Brighton. Highly recommended for anyone who just want to take in the stunning Silver Lake & big cottonwood canyon view with little effort. There are plenty of parking around that area, either right outside the trail head or back in Brighton center/resort parking lot. A great place for just chilling/walking or a picnic!
We visited Silver lake to take in the fall colors and it did not disappoint. We went on conference weekend so it was a little quieter. I went the weekend before on a Sunday and it was jam packed. The trail to twin lakes is currently closed and under construction there are a few more trials to explorer. We saw some deer and many squirrels on our visit. Great for all ages from little kid to elderly. The paths are well maintained and easy to access. Pack some lunch and have a fun picnic! I will say parking is a little tricky when it’s busy. I park about a block east of the entrance and walk down to the welcome center to silver lake. Not too bad but be aware of this.
Lovely boardwalk with a easy hike. Path is currently out and back, not a loop. Bring water and use facilities prior to hiking as the only place is at the visitor center.
Great views. We could see fish jumping in the lake as the bugs started to land on the water. Gorgeous varying colors of dragonflies.
