From Lakeshore, CA, take Huntington Lake Rd. east 0.3 miles to campground sign. Turn right at sign into campground. NOTE: All campers must first go to registration office off State Rt. 168 (turn at Mono Hot Springs sign/Forest Rt. 80 at northeast end of Huntington Lake) to pay and receive site assignment. This requirement includes campers having previously made reservations.
Fishing the San Joaquin River wa amazing. Some of the most remote water in California.
The forest rangers were super helpful, the park is in great condition! After the heavy snow falls this last winter, some of the signage needs to be redone, and some of the trails need to be cleared.
Absolute natural beauty for nature lovers. Picked the wrong time to visit Sierra Forest, it was snowed under and most of the walking trails were closed, even than the natural beauty was on another level. Will definitely visit in future during more suitable weather.
It's a paradise for trackers and walkers who want to escape from city hustle.
The most beautiful place to go too if you just want to get away from the city noise and smog it's just beautiful. Take a look at this and tell me if you don't think these pictures are worth the trip just for one day to drive up here.
