This is by far the best rest area for truckers. I mean they have three to four different restaurants, free showers, laundry which is $2 bucks for washer and dryer. And it's clean!!! Whenever I walk in it feels like home away from home a little. Overall this is a great rest area hands down...
Nice. Best part of this freeway is the service plazas. Always clean all sorts of food options and always a gas station. Sometimes they share a little history with you too! I think my favorite thing was the family having a picnic outside.
We stopped in the Portage service plaza. I can say that it was one of, if not the nicest travel plaza's, I've been to. Everything was cleaned and well maintained. There was a person attending to minor things in the rest room when I went in.
There was a very friendly person at the small convenience store. We order lunch at Wendy's. The staff were very nice. One person in the back even came out to warn us that the chicken sandwich was very hot, being just out of the frier. He didn't want anyone to possibly burn themselves. There was a nice women cleaning the food court for minor things.
I cannot say enough about how impressed I was with this facility and staff. A job well done. I wish my state had facilities like this.
Very nice and clean! Great for truck drivers, full showers and laundry.
With so many unfinished plazas along our route, we were so happy to find a decent selection of food places at this one.
Hubby had a Ghost Pepper 🌶️ sandwich from Wendy’s and it was so hot it made his eyes water and nose run. He was impressed it was actually that spicy, because he always picks the hottest thing he can find and usually is disappointed due to it being super mild. We were taken care of fairly quickly. Maybe next time I’ll try to healthier restaurant option that I was impressed to see at a plaza. Smoothies, salads, wraps… definitely better for a road trip than fast food.
