The Sanpitch Recreation Area is the farthest west portion of the Manti-La Sal National Forest, located in the Sanpitch Mountains. It is located in central Utah in Sanpete and Juab counties. It is bordered on the north by Salt Creek Canyon, to the south by BLM land, to the east by the Sanpete Valley and to the west by the Juab Valley. The closest access is SR 132 on the east and SR-128 and I-15 on the west. It is most noted for the Maple Canyon climbing area and campground. It features beautiful panoramic views of the Wasatch Mountains and Wasatch Plateau. There are opportunities for camping, hiking, hunting and motorized travel.

Full hook ups a walking trail that circumnavigates the Palisade lake. I will definitely be returning.
Beautiful little campground. Quiet, peaceful and safe. The reservoir is small, however, it's well kept up and there are some fun activities nearby. Golfing in a beautiful course, kayaking in the water. Very clean and well maintained. Highly recommended for a day trip or camping.
We rented one of the four canvas tents. The main bed in the tent had a bent frame that couldn't support a person. The trundle under it fits two adults easily, the bed is slightly smaller than two sleeping bags zipped together but we had no issues using it. We didn't try the futon for functionality but it fit well and was comfortable to sit on. The tables and chairs were great, they're easy and functional to bring in and out of the tent. The grill can rotate and the grill height from the flames adjustable as well. The tent itself was a disappointment as it doesn't seal closed anywhere at the ground and there are spider webs all around the base. We had seven different spiders inside the tent ranging in size from a quarter to a fifty cent piece in just 24 hours. The one in the photos was somewhere inbetween those sizes. The tents and camping places are all close together, it gives little privacy but does increase overall safety. There is a trail that goes around, they had fire pits for rent, all of the fires had to be 16" off the ground while we were there, yet the plant life isn't kept reasonably away from the tents to help reduce fire risk. There is a pretty good playground for kids, and paddle boats are available for rent.
