We tried to get a spot at one of the other two KOA that are closer to the ocean, but they were all booked. This one actually is decently located part way between Monterey and Santa Cruz. It's located next to the freeway which makes it easy to get to. We swam at the pool one day, and it was nice. We rented a cabin with beds for 6 people, and it worked out perfect for us.

It's pretty obvious that the owners have spent some money recently to upgrade the facilities. Many KOAs have fallen into disrepair, and we've traveled to many of them around the country. It's always very obvious when you have a hands-on owner running a KOA, and this is one of them. The staff is well trained, the facilities have fresh coats of paint, and are clean, etc. This is a great place to stop on your journey up and down the state. Not sure you would stay more than a couple days, but it's a nice KOA.

After reading some of these reviews I have to weigh in. I just spent 3 weeks there. To be honest, I was a little nervous about my stay given all the reviews. It was wonderful! Yes, they gave me a notice at check-in not to give out the bathroom code. But I never once saw anyone suspicious walking around and my stuff was completely fine the entire time, including my outdoor decor. Yes, the lower RV sites are asphalt separated by fencing, but there are trees thorughout the whole campground. I never felt like I was in a parking lot. And it was kind of nice to not track dirt, sand or grass into my trailer for three weeks! Plus the staff is nice, the pool area is great, laundry is convenient. There was noise from the roads and the roosters but nothing that kept me awake. A lovely, wonderful place!

Very nice stay. Surprised by how clean the cabin was. Felt no different than the hotels in town but 1/3 of the price. Bed was super comfortable and appreciate a place that gives you more than one pillow. I think 5 pillows per bed which really helps when you use pillows for support. Good food choices near by but also had a grill to cook on site. Would book again!

We stayed here for 4 days. We enjoyed the heated swimming pool one day of our stay. The recreation room was also a big hit for our 7 year old daughter. There was lots to do and many toys to play with. Laundry room and showers were nice and clean. The store has lots avaliable right on the property with fair prices. All of the staff is super friendly and helpful. They went above and beyond to help us with an issue we had the day we left. We stayed in a spot the had huge hedges on both sides so it was pretty private. There is a dog walking trail that we used for our fur kids. All in all a great KOA.
