Absolutely beautiful! I was staying in the Fresno area less than 30 minutes away and spent an afternoon walking on the San Joaquin River Trail and Pincushion Mountain Peak Trail.

Views on the way up to Pincushion Mountain, and views from the top were stunning. It has been raining lately, so everything was green. There are cows pinned in this trail area, so be sure to shut the gate and watch where you step. Also, no dogs allowed.

Best lake in Fresno County. Swimming, boating, jet skiing, picnics - it's all here.

Millerton is a staple for Fresno County, a 45 min drive from South Fresno, the perfect place to cool off in summer. We drove up Sky Harbor to see the wild flowers and then headed down to the lake area near Pincushion trail head. I like this picnic area, there are a few trees for shade, a restroom and pic nic tables. The lake is a decent walk down a hill, not the best spot if you're wanting to swim and sit near the lake, but if you're looking for a picnic spot with nice views this is it. Take a hike up to Pincushion and then relax with a lake view and have some food. The water is pretty low right now, I'm wondering if they drain the lake? I came here a few weeks ago and the water level was much higher.

Beautiful lake about a half-hour east of Madera. We were there mid-March, after months of substantial rain, so the lake was fairly full and the land was quite green.

We stayed in the RV loop, at site 117, which is on the outer loop with a great view of the lake.

I'm not sure I'd like this place when the lake is low and it's hot and dry, so I'm glad we went when we did.

We have the best time here @ Millerton, Fort Miller campsite. I make sure that I camp out here every year. Its not expensive, you are close to the lake. I just came back from my camping trip... July 20th- 24th, 2023. Yes it was "Hot" 102°-104°. But u can always cool down by getting into the lake or simply hooking a water hose to the water pipe and hosing yourself down.

You will dry up in 25 mins.

I'm ready for my next year 2024.
