Campsite: Millerton Lake State Recreation Area

Absolutely beautiful! I was staying in the Fresno area less than 30 minutes away and spent an afternoon walking on the San Joaquin River Trail and Pincushion Mountain Peak Trail.

Views on the way up to Pincushion Mountain, and views from the top were stunning. It has been raining lately, so everything was green. There are cows pinned in this trail area, so be sure to shut the gate and watch where you step. Also, no dogs allowed.

Campsite: Happy Hill Backcountry Shelter on the AT in Vermont — Appalachian National Scenic Trail

The Stratton Pond Shelter is a very nice shelter with bunk beds and a porch. Close to both Stratton Mountain and Stratton Pond. No tenting here--the tent area is .2 miles north of the shelter and is off of a side trail that's about 1/2 mile long.
