From Saguache, CO, take US Rt. 285 south 15.6 miles to La Garita and County Rt. G signs. Turn right at signs onto Rt. G and go 6.3 miles to "Y" intersection (County Rt. 41G). Bear right onto Rt. 41G and go 10.2 miles to another "Y" intersection (Forest Rt. 675). Bear left onto Rt. 675 (single lane with turnouts) and go 1.7 miles to campground sign. Turn left at sign into campground.
We came here for an evening picnic. Very nice setting back in the mountains but easy to get to. Also had bathrooms, big plus!
Had a great experience camping at the Poso Campground! Arrived on a Sunday afternoon in June and had the entire campground to ourselves for 3 nights. Access to ATV trails right from the campground to some amazing high meadows with aspens and views galore! The creek running nearby was great and there was minimal traffic on the county road. Also was able to mountain bike at Penitente Canyon Park with amazing trails and views not far away. We will be back to this little slice of heaven.
Poso was a disappointment for us! No where to really hike, minimal acces to the water. Sooo much traffic on a very small road! Sites are wayyyyyy to close together!!
