Some of the greatest camping and trails outside of RMNP. For amazing hikes, try the beautiful Comanche Lake trail or Beaver Creek trail. Been coming here for ten years and it's absolutely heaven!
The High Ropes Challenge Course at CSU Mountain Campus was an impressive team building experience in such a beautiful setting. Warning...non-male friendly harnesses in use.
Right up in the mountains. Free camping for 14 days and then you just have to move. There's not a single thing I can think of that's negative. The people there are usually hippies or just down to relax and talk. The Hospitality is the best. Coming from Wisconsin there for some backpacking and such it was such a wonderful experience. You can either be near people our out and away from everyone and everything. There's nothing that's stopping you from getting in tune with nature and seeing the beauty of the sky without most of the light pollution. Hiking there off trails is surreal and really gets you to admire the beauty. I can't wait to go back and enjoy the mountains again.
