From US Highway 285 at Jefferson, take County Road 35 north to County Road 37 and turn right. Pay the user fee at Jefferson Lake Recreation Area entrance station and continue on the road to the campground.
Jefferson Creek campground was a great campground spot for the weekend. Vault toilets were very clean with no oder. Two available dumpsters at the end of the campground. Everyone was quite and respectful. Camp hosts were friendly and knowledgeable. Camp site 11 was a pull through with a standard picnic table and fire pit up the hill about 40 feet. Nice flat spot to have a few chairs and tents amongst the shady pine trees. This campsite is the closest to Jefferson lake where we spent the day in hammocks with the dogs. As of this weekend you can walk around the whole lake; however, you will have to walk through some deep left over snow. One thing to note is that the gate to Jefferson Lake is open although the website still says the gate is still closed. We would have taken our Kayaks if we were sure we get up there.
We loved this campground and would definitely stay here again. The sites are big and the views are beautiful. The creekside trail right out of the campground is stunning.
Large campsites, far enough apart for privacy. Plenty of shade. Bathrooms were well stocked and clean. Close access to the lake and picnic area. Plenty of trails to hike as well! Loved it
