Went there over the weekend to fish and camp with some friends. This place is overcrowded and not worth the time. We ended up having to camp 20 minutes from the river up on the side of a dry dusty mountain with very little shade. Getting down there took a long time down a washboard dusty road just to find an overfilled noisy campground. To top it all off the river was crowded and the fishing was horrible from all the pressure. Don’t go here.

4x4 required unless you’re mental. Clearly I’m mental. Drove our 21’ class C fwd down which was sketchy as. Driving it back up was savage 😂🤦‍♂️ Campsite is overgrown but nice. Would have stayed but there was increased bear activity and a moose carcass put us off as we have 2 dogs and aren’t from around here. Also, the thought of having to get back meant I couldn’t rest.

Nice spot just if you have a 4wd. Be warned. Don’t be as stupid as me.

Primitive, difficult to reach spot on the river... if you're looking for a peaceful place with beautiful river views and no amenities, then this is for you.

The road is so awful. I have never been stuck in my Subaru until I tried to go camping here. We finally made it and it was full of garbage.

Absolutely love this place. Camped here in late June. Had the place to myself for a day or two, then the campground was about 50% full. Not much upkeep happening with the sites. Grass was very tall and home to a small snake. The sites back right up to the N Platte River, where 16" trout live. Plenty of dispersed camping available on the way in from FR 512. Vault toilet is near; no water on site. Bighorn sheep roam the ridges, eagles fly the skies and coyotes howl into the night. This is remote camping and a great place to unplug.
