The best tent camp around. Clean. Pet friendly. Non electric in tent area. No numbered spots. Plenty of RV space. The view is awesome. Watching the ships come and go...dolphins...pelicans.. just very peacefu.

Nice place; if you are in a tent, make sure your tent is waterproof and stay out of low water areas in case it rains. During the weekdays, expect noise around 6am from the adjacent athletic fields as the Navy people start up with physical training. If you want to do away with the convenience of the Base and proximity to Jax Beach, take the ferry across to Little Talbot Island St Park; where you can also drive out on the beach.

We had a wonderful time here. Great weather during the winter. They let us choose our site and invited us to a Christmas potluck dinner. Games for the family and close access to the beach.

Such a beautiful spot, right on the water inlet where the ships enter and exit. Nice facilities, excellent cleaning staff but the people who use the facilities could be better about cleaning up after themselves. Laundry facilities are tough to get machines, especially when people use several machines at one time. I'd give it five stars if it was not so difficult to get through on the phone for reservations or to ask a question. They used to have voicemail, but now the phone just rings and rings and no one answers. Wendy at the front desk is awesome, very friendly and was a full-time RVer so has a lot of great tips if you need them. She is also very patient and encouraging if you are newer to RV life. It is almost always Very Windy and always colder than the other RV park on base, Osprey Cove. There are two dog parks and the staff maintains them well but people could be better about cleaning up after their dogs. We cleaned up several piles of poo not from our dog, which is not very pleasant, but we wanted to spare the staff from having to do it. Very surprising to see on a military base.

The wildlife in the water inlet is plentiful, and dolphins are regular visitors close to the rock jetties in front of the dog parks. Various birds, great fishing, and the people who stay there are pretty friendly.

I really enjoyed tent camping here. Very quiet and peaceful, beautiful spot. Even during the summer, it was a nice spot with the tree coverage. Unfortunately due to a verbal altercation between a camper and a host (who has been there for three consecutive rotations), the tent site has been permanently shut down. Even though the host was also at fault for the altercation and was being verbally aggressive, the camper as well as other campers at the time, were told the site would be closing down. One of the front desk personnel even said herself: it’s just not worth the headache to keep the tent site open - even though the host was just as at fault BUT NOT HELD ACCOUNTABLE, along with said host operating a laundry cleaning service utilizing the MWR laundry facility as well as MWR staff using the same machines during their working shift.
