Excellent 3 mile hike up from 211 parking area. We saw a small bear.

Normal hut, good overall. Spring was shallow, but oke ty to fill with, and close. Bear box too was nice.

This hut is primitive. It has a large fireplace. It is open to the southeast. You can gather firewood to burn. No sleeping overnite.it is about 1/2 mile from the Appalachian trail and a little farther to skyline drive.

you can sleep overnight there if you are backpacking. Great water source and room for 12 in the shelter and several tent sites adjacent. Moldering privy also. Please pack out your trash and practice LEAVE NO TRACE principles. Have fun, be safe. AT Ridgerunner 2018,2019

Primitive Camping Shelter that is great for afternoon hikes and a quick overnight stay before exploring more of SNP, since it's so close to the highway. It can also be a nice spot for a lunch break, since there's plenty of space to sit down and also a privy for bathroom breaks. Always respect the wildlife and leave things as they were before you found them (leave no trace).
