Amazing and best petrogylphs we have seen! Easily accessible, no climbing up to see them, clearly seen and an amazing abundance of petroglyphs in one area. Even more fantastic than what we had pictured before visiting. We have been to many petroglyph areas, and these by far, are the best. Everywhere you looked were more and more. Highly recommend this stop on your way though Southern Utah. We have been through this area over 20 times and not visited, and were so glad we finally stopped this time.
Plenty of space bear the area for camping/clamping, you can find a picnic area with the parking lot and a bathroom. It's fascinating to read about the different tubes, the petroglyphs and even interpretations.
You can spend plenty of time reading and even trying your own reading of the images waiting for you
Must-see!! Parowan Gap Petroglyphs are fantastic! The drive is not bad getting there. There is a parking lot and bathroom. There is a walkway with lots of info about different petroglyphs you’re seeing. The walk is great for everyone and if you’re wanting something a little extra there appears to be little trails around as well.
Spent a ovely afternoon there on Christmas Day. A fellow playing a Native American flute added to the experience. Definitely a worthwhile stop for both the cultural and geologic experience.
The Parowan Gap Petroglyphs is an incredibly interesting location with well preserved ancient petroglyphs that are very clear and easy to see.
The walk from the parking lot on the east is a mild and quick walk that goes right past some very clear imagery. We’ve stopped here on multiple road trips with the kids and with the grandparents. Everyone loves this little piece of history.
There is, unfortunately, a bit of vandalism primarily from before this location began to be protected.
Just 15 minutes or so off the freeway makes this a great stop for anyone passing through. Definitely worth the stop!
Don’t forget to sign the visitors log book at the start of the trail from the east parking lot.
