It used to be a wonderful place to picnic by the creek, however, with the growth of the tourist industry you hear constant roar of atv's going through the creek destroying the native plants just a few yards from where you are sitting. If you want to enjoy the silence of nature this is not the place to go.

BLM FREE camping. What a gem. Especially if you have riding toys (atv, dirt bikes). Clean campers and safe. The view to wake up to is AWESOME.

Probably the best riding we found in Kanab. If you want more rock climbing and canyons this is the place. Other areas in Kanab seem to have a lot of flatter field riding for a bigger portion of the trail. Or maybe we just didn't find the other trails either way hope you enjoy it as much as we did...fyi the Barracks trail is fun for water crossings even in August. Also its worth the ride out to the slot canyon parking at peekaboo
