We rode up there with our bikes to camp in our tent. The campground and its nature is just amazing.
The campsites are totally fine and are really natural. Of course if you decide to tent outside, there might be some dirt.
Jeff is a really nice and helpful guy. Since it got a bit cold at night, he brought us firewood for free.
I’m still giving a 5. Host camps were awesome. Campsites were clean. Beautiful surroundings. Now the only bad thing is the porta potties. Nasty. Should have been cleaned mid week. We were there for 7 days and never cleaned. We still had awesome time. Ty
The sites are all very different sizes and layouts. Some are great and others are less great. Ours was tiny. We barely had room for our small car and our tent. The location is great though and the camp hosts were nice. The sites are very close together, so expect to see and hear the other people a lot.
We loved Kolob Campground! The road to it is about 40-45 minutes from the main road. It's very windy in spots but is very scenic. Our campsite was #4, it was quite large & had a trail from the site to a little beach area. It comes with a fire ring, trash can, and a long table. There are a few trees on the edge of the site that we used for clotheslines otherwise it's pretty open. We enjoyed it quite a bit, it's very peaceful. The other campers was respectful of your privacy, we had an early hike the next day after we arrived so we went to bed around 6pm. We had absolutely no problem sleeping, couldn't ask for better camp neighbors!! Would definitely stay here again!
Beautiful country for sure. Make sure you book early through the app or you may have a grumpy camp host coming by to accuse you of squatting! Lol. That was a rude awakening. Other than that it’s a great place to camp. Don’t get site 5 unless you want the tiniest site there. I’m pretty sure all the sites cost the same which kind of is unfortunate since when I was there it wasn’t full and I was in site 5. The app won’t show any pictures of the sites so I will say sites 1-4 looked good and 7. I can’t remember beyond those nearby sites. If I had it to do over I’d stay at site 4. It was huge and closer to the lake with a better view. But it’s gorgeous there no matter what site. There’s also fish in the lake.
There’s water in the campground but not in each site. The bathrooms are portajohns near the water source. Not a bad setup if the alternative is no water and digging a hole.
I’ll probably be back but I’m going to try to get a site that’s run by the county just next to Kolob Campground. My guess is that host won’t wake me up in the morning by banging on my car window. 😆
