It's cute on the outside but that's it. Water bugs in the tub, no hot water, unsecured wi-fi, television unwatchable due to poor reception/glitches, my room smelled like a basement. I ordered food but it never arrived and when I inquired at the front desk they said the kitchen was closed. Why didn't anyone say anything at check in and why was I allowed to order and charged for a meal that was never going to come? I still have yet to get an ETA for a refund on the meal.
Update- I finally got my refund, three weeks after i stayed there, for my meal after having to remind them again. In the voicemail they left me they were unprofessional and made sure to take the opportunity to be snarky about getting me a refund after I ordered even though they told me the kitchen was closed. They mentioned the large party on site but did not say anything about the restaurant.
I didn't ask for a discount for my stay and they have not offered. Dragging their feet about this refund and leaving "I told you so" comments is so unprofessional. This hotel is rundown and is the worst place I stayed over my three weeks road tripping through all of California.
A whimsical hotel with cute wild west theme. All the comforts of home. This large property is walkable and has an outdoor small ampitheatre with fire pit. There are amazing views. You can see the night sky with ease. The pool and hot tub are a plus. The rooms are super large and cozy with a table with chairs plus a soft chair to stretch out. A coffeemaker and hairdryer in the room are a plus. Nearby are the outdoor desert metal sculptures and some shopping.
We really enjoyed the relaxed western ambiance, nice lounge and deck with heaters. A very nice stay overall.
Highly recommended. Hotel. Rooms are very spacious and clean. The beds are comfortable. It's great looking at the stars while sitting in the jacuzzi. The restaurant burgers were tasty and the pub was cozy.
I’ve been to a few of the RV resorts owned and managed by Highway West. This one is definitely built up more than a normal out nowhere rv park. Two pools and hot tubs allow for plenty of room if your visit is during a busy time. The RV portion of the resort is well kept and clean. All hookups work EXCEPT cable.
The hotel is cool with its themed buildings. I peered into a few rooms being cleaned and they looked like standard hotel rooms.
The bar is California priced.
Staff is very nice.
I noticed the bath houses use a silly old decking material (probably to add to the look) the decking material should be replaced with something less splintering and more level.
