Beautiful campground, can get windy at times other than that just great. The hosts are terrific and very informative. I recommend sites 17,15 and for first come first serve sites 1 and 2 are very nice.
Well maintained and great camp sites. The water was clear-ish and the perfect temperature for hot days.
Went there for the 7 mile trail around the lake. Very gorgeous up close view of Mt. Hood and a neighboring mountain. Not steep really, easily did it in 3 hrs. Coming into the lake the road is kind of thin and dusty for 2 miles. Makes u think your driving to a quarry construction site but manageable.
Campsite 001

The camp host David and Park Ranger Steve were friendly and helpful. Site 001 was beautiful and had easy access to the lake that was just stunning! What was unbeknownst to us and were not included in other reviews, is that there is a path very near our campsite that led to a small beach next to our campsite and MOST of the day users parked by our campsite and accessed the path to the beach. They were loud and obnoxious till 8:30pm when they left.
It really is a beautiful campsite but having day users walk back and forth so close to our campsite makes me think twice of choosing campsite 001 and will choose another site away from day users.
The dirt road to the campground was treacherous at some places. Check campground for alerts before arrival.
The lake again was beautiful and the campground a rare gem.
