Nice small and clean state park. Has showers and bathrooms. A bit noisy from the freeway and train but tolerable. Plenty of space for small and big RV’s. Where we parked we didn’t have full hookup but I’m not sure about other sites. The fee for over night is great! $27. The walk from the site to the river is only a few minutes and it’s an easy walk. There is also a day use parking closer to the water with a public restroom. There is an option for tent camping as well. The park is located 10 minutes away from Hood River city which has gas station and groceries.

Loud because of the freeway and trains going all night. The most amazing paved trail 1mile each way up and down a mountain to a beautiful waterfall!! Able to manage on my scooter 🙌😊

At first it seemed sketchy but after being there a few days it was actually pretty nice! The park rangers don’t hound you like they do in the other parks up I5! There isn’t a lot of privacy between sites but the park doesn’t fill up so getting a site without having campers right next to you is a plus!

Cool park and several mile bike path! The only downfall, as mentioned in the rest of the reviews is the train activity. If total peace is your objective, not your stop. The 3 Rangers on duty performed exceptionally well! They were consistent with the maintenance, showed up to do the job as asked, and went above and beyond by making sure to take the time (no matter how long it took) to absolutely ensure the customers stay is better than what it should be! Whether it be assisting in solving small electrical issues, to just spending the few extra minutes to help find the "best" stack of firewood to 5ake back to the campsite, they were better than spot on this time around! Hence my 5 star instead of 4 star (firewood price increases and train noise) rating! As usual the staff always shine in the state parks!😊

We enjoyed our stay at Viento Campground. We stayed for 5 nights in October. The sites are incredibly well maintained and clean, the showers and restrooms were clean, and the state park rangers were very friendly and helpful.

Firewood is available on site, but ice isn't. This wasn't an issue as grocery stores were available 5 minutes up the highway. There is a small playground toward the entrance of the park and a day use area available within walking distance.

The train track runs through the park, and trains run at all hours, day and night. This was the only downside, but we got used to them after a couple of nights. There are grey water disposal sewer drains, but we were told not to use them due to the lines being closed and the water doesn't drain anywhere.

The day use area gets quite a bit of activity from kayakers and wind surfing.

Overall, this was a lovely park and great experience.
