From the jct of Hwy 97 and Fairgrounds Rd (south end of Madras): Go 1/2 blk W on Fairgrounds Rd.
Nice place to stop for a night. It's very open with no shade, but the facilities work and the bathroom is clean. The local camp host was very friendly. It was nice that it was in Madras because that gave us access to the town for groceries and a laundromat.
It's a basic facility with RV hookups at the county fairgrounds. The property appears well kept. The camping consists of a gravel parking lot adjacent to the fairgrounds surrounded by a fence and also adjacent to a mobile home park. All sites appear to be in direct sun with little to no shade. The sites have picnic tables and a fire grill. The sites have water and electric hookups as well as sewage dump hookups. I paid $30 a night.
The bathhouse was adequate however it would be nice to have more hooks to hang stuff on and perhaps even a small shelf to sit your soap and shampoo on. The water was hot and the pressure was adequate, it served its purpose.
I needed a shower and to charge my various batteries including an EMTB. This place is suitable for that. Bonus, it's riding distance from Madras East hills mountain biking area which I plan to check out tomorrow.
