From jct US 411 & CR 400: Go 3 mi S on CR 400, then 1-3/4 mi E (follow signs).
One of the best campgrounds we have ever stayed. The manager was super friendly and took care of a special need we had. The campground was very well maintained right on the water. Looking forward to future stays.
We camped here for the first time this week. And already we have talked about going back. The place is pretty. Easy access to the water as well as clean bathrooms. Additionally everyone we encountered was nice and followed the campsite rules regarding quiet hours and not walking through one another's campsites. Great experience.
Long term and seasonal residents at this campground are very nice and the grounds themselves are solid. The staff, however, needs a ton of work. They are unorganized, not knowledgeable on camping or what it takes to park an RV(length of site, drive in,), rude, and unprofessional. Staff will belittle you when addressing concerns about parking and simply remind you that “everyone can do it” even when said staff member has only been working at the CG for a few months. Add a ton of rudeness on top of that.
Long story short, triple check to ensure you can access and fit in your spot(specifically for larger rigs) and be prepared to take a tongue lashing from some ignorant folks whilst trying to secure your refund or move spots to accommodate your rig safely. Beautiful campground, horrible customer service, extraordinarily ignorant staff.
Memorial weekend trip 2023. Here are the pros and cons of this campground:
Pros: Friendly owners/staff. There ARE long term campers but everyone was nice and friendly. Good fishing spots. Nice sandy beach. Basketball court. The icecream truck came through which was fun. Decent camp store. We had a nice site (site 50) that allowed for a small trailer and tent. Felt safe.
Cons: The biggest con for us was no cell service and no Wi-Fi (we have Verizon). Also could not hang hammocks in trees but was told this was a TVA rule. Not as scenic as some other campgrounds.
Overall nice time. Check it out!
The best vacation I've had in a long time! The service and staff were great. My family and I had a wonderful 2 weeks! We had several family campers with lots of laughter, fellowship and the games and entertainment was right on! Please if you enjoy camping and get a chance to camp at Notchy Creek Campground do it you will not be disappointed!
