Nice little campground with nice bathrooms. Sooooooo loud though! Not from the campground but the highway is literally 50ft away from some sites!! The whole row by the road end should not even be sites! Should be trees to help block sound from the highway
Very nice DEC campground with a good vibe. With it close to all the high peaks and mountain bike trails, it’s definitely a great place to base camp.
Mostly small tents, headlamps and mountain bikes when we went, not overcrowded with huge annoying RVs or generators running all night like many other campgrounds in the area.
Sites are decent size for 3 or so tents and cars, but rather open and close to each other.
Lively enough where you can stay up a bit with friends and not worry about disturbing the neighbors cause they are still up themselves; it definitely had more of a younger active crowd when we went.
It is still along a major highway however, so there was some car noise early in the nights.
My favorite campground! We have camped here twice now. The facilities are well maintained and clean! The waterfalls trail within the campground is a bonus. Close to Lake Placid village and great restaurants.
