We have been here many times. They have a unique location on an island with many waterfront sites. Reservations are not easy and should be made far in advance. This is an expensive CG, but it is just the kind of place we like. Full hook ups most sites. Cabins and marina to rent, boat slip if you like. Grounds are rustic and in good shape. We are returning again this year for a week. This is a real unique CG and we love it. Would be 5 stars except for high price.

This is our second year staying for a week.We and our Goldendoodle, Bella, had a fantastic vacation. This year we stayed in H35. Beautiful views of the lake, kayaking, wildlife and friendly neighbors as well as helpful, courteous staff. This campground is making improvements, it is clean and one of our favorite places to stay. Thanks! We hope to return again in September next year.

The good...its a beautiful location and I do believe they are making improvements. The bad...Mayflies!!! Wow. They overwhelmed our cottage and got all over inside. Our cottage needs a little more TLC. Front windows that did have screens, have rips in them allowing the bugs in. We wanted to open our bedroom window, but it was duct tape shut? I understand they can't control the bugs, but the AC window unit was disgusting inside and out. The beds were decent and the shower had excellent pressure and hot water. The kitchen was nicely furnished for a camp site. Overall, we'd come back again and give it another try.

Positives:

Nicely maintained, 50 Amp full hook up sites, views over lake Ontario are awesome, the sunrise is breathtaking over the water.

Negatives:

Sites are narrow and pads are high, exercise caution coming out your door or possibly turn an ankle. Distance away from anything to do makes this a destination that if activities are provided u don't need to leave, but there is not much close to here. Depending on your unit hook ups are sometimes in a weird place. Some sites have hookups on both sides and some are motorhome drive in friendly. But on ours the neighbor sewer was in our side yard not behind camper.

Over all a descent place to really get away. It's on an island people and this time of year isn't very busy so it has been nice and quiet. Summer may be a bit crazy.

This was my 2nd visit to AI, this time with a motor home and a sunrise waterfront site. The view was spectacular and the sound of the water was extremely relaxing. The crowds were gone and I felt like I was on my own private island. The staff, especially Ellen, were friendly and helpful. Ellen made me feel like a valued and appreciated customer. Can’t wait to go back!
