Did a daily tubing trip. We had great time and people were very friendly. We had to switch weekends due to storms and had no issue with it. Fun for family and my dog. It is better after a nice storm when the water is higher. Tip- Bring sunscreen! It is hot and you will get burnt. Takes 3 hours to do it on avg.
New River Campground and Canoe is a fantastic place to camp. Book a site and you will be so glad you did! We set up on the river front and listened to the rush of the water and enjoyed the incredible views. We camped here years ago but the changes the new owners have made are awesome! The staff is super friendly and they make you feel welcome from the moment you arrive. We met Jessie the new owner as we were pulling out on Sunday and had a chat about the changes and upgrades and how impressed we were. He is a super nice guy and you can tell he really cares about his guests and them having a great experience. We have already booked two more trips this summer and can’t wait to go back!
Great for kids. Beautiful property on the river. Very family oriented and lots of fun activities. The only reason I gave 4 stars is because the campsites are extremely close together with no privacy. We happened to go on a holiday and it was completely full. Just made things a little difficult managing the dog and for parking. Other than that, great place and most importantly the kids had a blast.
A beautiful campground right on the river with very friendly staff (we loved Leroy!) I knew our party would be arriving later than 7pm so I let them know ahead of time and they were very understanding and said I could check in the next morning. A security guard met us at the gate and directed us to our site. Having security there made us feel very safe. I only wish there was a policy for generators at night. There was a camper down where all of us tent campers were and they ran their generator all night both nights we were there. We stayed here to be next to the river and we couldn’t even listen to it after dark.
Great place for camping. Stayed for 3 nights and had almost the whole place to our self. Place had very friendly staff and plentiful of firewood. Lucky for use we went during off season so it was very quiet and not crowded. The space to camp was very wide and spacious, I've been to other places where it's next the the river and the spot to camp was very tight but those place was big enough for at least 3 cars to park and still have room for tents.
