From jct I-95 (Exit 160) & Hwy 123: Go 7-1/2 mi N on Hwy-123 (Ox Rd).
Great park with lots of things to do. Train rides and mini golf for the kids, plus several playgrounds and an ice cream parlor. The walk around the lake is 4 and 1/2 mi, and a great trail.
Burke Lake Park has many walking trails and attractions! There is a golf course, a driving range, camp sites, picnic sites, walking trails, boat ramps, a merry-go-round, and so much more. I enjoy sitting on the benches scattered around the lake and looking out over the water! Sometimes you can find geese, ducks, and fish in their natural habitat!😁 The exercise trail is equipped with bars, a balance beam, and other equipment I use for calisthenics training (including handstands and L-sits)! This place holds a lot of hidden gems within it!
What an amazingly huge and lovely park!! My only complaint is that I came in through Googles suggestion and it took me to the golf course parking lot. We spent about an hour here and still only saw 1/4 of the lake. Came to see birds and was not disappointed. A huge variety of birds and life all around. Families with kids enjoying the playground and tons of good spots for disc golf.
Beautiful lake, with a nice trail. The whole circle of the trail is about 5 miles
Entry to the park is only free for VA residents.
When I visited during Thanksgiving of 2023, restrooms were locked & I could not find the water fountain ( around the walking trail). So please consider taking water bottles with you.
I loved this park.
