It’s an amazing drive, unreal! We saw goats and beautiful nature all around, easy drive and not to many cars around for a summer day. There are lots of places to pull over and take in the view, it is a great place to visit
Get out of your car or off your motorcycle and climb a bit for better views. It's a beautiful drive. Lots of cool landscape to view for quite awhile. Drive through some tunnels and get dizzy going around hairpin curves.
If you have never been, it is a great place to visit, especially on motorcycles.
If you do visit, please leave your 20-foot horse trailer at home!!! The narrowest tunnel is only 8 feet wide!
Be respectful of other travelers and slow down, a lot of areas where two cars barely fit side by side!
If you're going to go anywhere, this is the place. The views are INCREDIBLE. INDESCRIBABLE. I had the pleasure of a family of mountain goats that greeted me. I've never felt so much peace in my life. This is a one of a kind experience that everyone should do. Don't pass this opportunity up.
This was an incredible item to check off the old bucket list! The tunnels are awesome, and the rock formations are just gorgeous. There are places along the way you can stop and get out, take some photos, read a plaque here and there. You won't be driving too fast on this winding road, as it has some crazy turns and steep hills. The tunnels allow for 1 direction of vehicles to go at a single time, so be careful before entering them. If you are in the black hills of South Dakota, I highly suggest taking the beautiful scenic drive.
