Amazing place to go. Tons of different animal tracks and critters to observe and I love how far off the road it is. Really allows you step away from the noises of the city and into nature. This our Favorite place to go with the kids for mini adventures into the wild.

Naval Live Oaks Nature Preserve holds a special place in my heart. Nestled along the picturesque Gulf Coast, this hidden gem of natural beauty and tranquility is a must-visit destination. Walking through the preserve, I was enveloped by the soothing sounds of nature—a symphony of chirping birds and rustling leaves. The diversity of flora and fauna amazed me with each step. Vibrant wildflowers painted the landscape, while moss-covered branches added a touch of whimsy. The stunning coastline took my breath away—a never-ending stretch of sugar-white sand meeting crystal-clear waters. It's not just the beauty that captivates; it's the historical significance too. This land played a vital role in shipbuilding history. Naval Live Oaks is a sanctuary where solace is found, nature's wonders are admired, and the interconnectedness of all living beings is contemplated. A visit to this timeless preserve will touch your soul and leave you in awe of its beauty.

I love the national Park service and the department of the interior for this hidden gem! Rope swings, fish cleaning sink, picnic area, trails, fishing, swimming, and more. Absolutely stunning.

Regarding the NW portion of the park. There is a picnic area and bathroom facilities. The bathrooms were closed during my visit. It could have been due to the freezing temps the night before or just a season thing. The part of the trail I walked was mostly soft sand. At the first west boundary there is a gate and it appears this is a regular entrance for people.

I certainly plan to revisit at a later date to explore the other parts.
