Located on Hwy 101 N, just past the Red Barn Flea Market (after the 'big rocks'). Hwy 101 S, 2 miles past the San Juan Bautista turnoff. Turn left at Cole Road, left on Hwy 101 N to park entrance on right.
We spent part of the afternoon at our grandsons high school graduation held at the Monterey Fairgrounds. The site is centrally located, and is well kept up. We had to trod through a lot of sand on the arena floor, but luckily, our seats were in the stands this year. There were many helpful volunteers to show us to our seats and maneuver car traffic. Parking was provided on the Fairgrounds lot as well as street parking. It was a well organized event at a more than adequate location.
Campground stage 6, was easy to get to. The connections for sewage and electricity are really badly attached at the end. Connections on the vehicle are on the side. All hoses were too short. Always need to move.
This RV Park is similar to a 2 star hotel.
PROS: 1.5 to 3 miles away from the beauty and fun of Monterey.
CONS: Poor Wifi, no areas to relax and enjoy, bathrooms are small outdated and smelly. Sewer smells around park, spaces are very small, hookups are at back of space, which is difficult on large RVs. It's a parking lot, not an RV Park. Cars can't be parked at RV they get parked in dusty dirt lot. We were infested with ants. Spaces are not level, Most spots are on a slope, good luck getting sewage up hill from your RV.
This place received 2 stars because it was 25 minute Electric Bike ride to Canary Row. And the staff are nice.
We are travelling Canadians and had issues obtaining our rental RV in San Francisco which caused us to be late for check-in.
We attempted to call the campground several times, leaving voicemails, and waking up early to speak to the campground main office first thing in the morning.
The main office worker proceeded to be extremely rude when we tried to tell them our situation as we apologized for any inconveniences that we may have caused.
They were very not understanding of our situation and threatened us first thing in the morning.
Due to that, we would definitely not recommend staying!
