About Campground

D'Lo Water Park is one of Mississippi's best kept secrets. With it's intriguing history, beautiful and unique topography and its myriad of recreational opportunities, D'Lo Water Park offers more than many state parks.

If you are into canoeing, camping or other outdoor fun, D'Lo Water Park has something to offer you. Situated on the scenic Strong River, the park offers complete canoe outfitting and shuttle service.

There are rv/camper hook-ups (lights, water, sewage), primitive camping, rental cabins, bath house, walking track, lots of picnic tables with grills and tournament softball fields.

The park is wooded and very peaceful and the river provides excellent fishing and cool water for a nice dip on a hot summer day.

The park is owned by the Pearl River Basin Development District, a special fund state agency. The park is operated by the Simpson County Park Commission and under the directorship of a full-time manager.

Please contact the Park Manager for more information.

Love going to D'Lo to swim in the river. The area is beautiful and clean, has picnic tables over looking the water, and entrance is free. Have brought many friends and family there to share a day in the water.

Great place to enjoy the water with kids. I have used the kayak rental a few times and have really enjoyed the creek. I have only experienced excellent service. I have not fished here yet but would love to try.

This is a great campground to go to. I really loved it here. This place was well kept up and well secured. I didn’t see no trash or criminal activity involved here. I loved the river and the overall beauty of this place. I recommend coming here in late July or early August. That is when the water and weather is not to hot nor cold. The prices are pretty good if your just camping out. You can also canoe here as well but I would advise asking a staff member first.

The most amazing little secret Simpson county has. The geological features are amazing, it's clean, everyone is hospitable and friendly, the staff of inmates are such amazing individuals it makes you wonder why they are inmates at all, the selection of fishing gear and tackle rivals the nearby department stores on price and surpasses them on selection. I can't say enough good things about this Mississippi treasure.

D'Lo Water Park is our favorite place to go camping and canoeing. We and family/friends have had nothing but excellent times here. It's quiet and peaceful. Our getaway from the world and back to nature. Everyone, the staff and inmates working here are exceptional people. We have camped at the campground and overnight down on the sandbars. Love this place!
