The campsites are considered "primitive," designed to furnish only the camper's basic needs. The campsites consist of a cleared area, fire ring, table, a vault toilet. Garbage facilities are not provided. Please pack out all trash.
All sites are on a first-come, first-served basis.
From Hovland take Arrowhead Trail 17 mi to McFarland Lake. Access to BWCA and Border Route hiking trail.
If you are entering the Boundary Waters from here or hiking the Border Route Trail, permits are required.
No running water but it has access to the Border Route Trail and lake McFarland.
Great little campgroung...been there many times. This is a great spot from which to jump off into the BWCA, either to the north through Little John lake OR to the southwest through Pine lake.
