Super close to Munising!

I will say the only thing about this trip that was a thumbs down was the weather it rained the whole time, making things wet and sandy if you stay on the rustic area it is completely beach!. Be prepared for the loud noise of the road that does make it feel a little less like camping but with some music it can be tuned out. night time you can hear loud tires going over rumple strips as well so maybe prepare with ear plugs. either than that the man at the front desk was very friendly, water is beautiful but to cold to swim in the end of September. would come back to this camp ground again. Wheel barrows helped a ton for hauling your gear back to camp!

Awesome facilities for RVs, tent campers and more.

I stayed at two types of sites during my stay: a beachfront walk-up site with sandy ground (no electric hookup) and a drive-up grass ground electric/waste hookup site along the lakefront.

Both were equally majestic but I preferred the drive-up sites because they were closer to the “good” bathrooms. The facilities closer to the RV park have individual, locking showers and updated bathrooms. The facilities near the beachfront sites are frequently sandy and wet. However, both are thoroughly cleaned daily! The staff here is excellent and friendly as heck.

If you’re looking for privacy and a more traditional camping experience, I would recommend the walk-up beachfront sites.

If you prefer electric hookups, quick bathroom access and family vibes, I would recommend the drive-up sites.

My husband, sister and brother in law camped here for a week in September. It is a beautiful campground situated right on Lake Superior. It’s location on the lake was perfect for rock hunting and watching beautiful sunsets. Our golden boy, Bo loved swimming in the lake each day. It was so convenient to all the Pictured Rocks activities. Grand Marais is about an hour’s drive away. We will definitely come again!
