The primary recreational use of the area is fishing in the borrow pit pond and nature walking along the trail around the pond. A small group of hunters utilize the area for hunting but the area is small and wildlife populations are limited by habitat availability. There is a gravel parking lot and a small fishing pier for access on the area.

Trails are hard to travel if fishing from shore... As far as going on a nature walk its peaceful if u can get over the highway noise.... Not a whole lot in good fishing in these waters... Im told there are catfish there but not many... Far too much seaweed to really do any catfishing.... There are a few big bass in here but i feel like its over fished... I've been here 5 times with my dad been out on our new kayaks once..... Late April early may and waters are still too cold saw a couple large mouth keepers but they weren't eating.... Maybe ill try it again in a week or two... For now looking for bigger better fishing... Everything here is basically catch and release
Love this place. Be prepared to pack out your own garbage and maybe some others. No trash cans and no facilities of any kind. Great lake to fish and kayak on.
Small large mouth around the lake. Its nice and quiet however people think its okay to litter, its not hard to pick up after yourself but over all the park is a nice place to hike and fish.
Nice, quiet walk about. Clean(ish). Many snake holes. Watch for ticks.
Nice little lake. I tried fishing from shore in January when part of it was open from ice. My son got one bite but that was it for us. We brought the dog and some point gave up on fishing and took the dog for a hike. A lot of brush put plenty of worn trails to get around with. Saw lots of beaver tree work and a couple of newer beaver huts.
