In response to Couch Potato, the Meridian KOA does not have a night watch person. We have someone who is a few miles away that is our emergency contact for after-hours issues. That is not who spoke to you. I am so sorry that another camper was rude to you. The campground has a very good balance of light. It is enough for the late arrival and not too much that one would need blackout curtains. It is conveniently located 1.5 miles off of I20\59. It doesn't get more convenient than that. You do not have all the road noise and traffic all night. The scrap yard is an eyesore to pass on your way here but it does not effect your stay.
Not well lit. A lot of loose dogs that according to the night watch are neighborhood dogs. Before we were told this, a dog (with a collar) came up to our site while we were setting up.
My Husband called out to the dog (didn’t go near him) and said, “Hi buddy!”
A woman walked up to our site and said, “His name is Beau”.
So naturally my Husband said, “Hello Beau!”
The woman yells at my Husband, “Don’t call him! He doesn’t live here, he’s one of the neighborhood dogs that roam around the park”. Then she continues to yell at the dog and chase it away.
She offended my Husband by talking to him like he’s an idiot. My Husband said, “Sorry, we didn’t know that.”
I decided to continue doing what I was doing and ignore the woman because I know I would’ve ended up saying something that’s not very nice.
Also, it’s near a lot recycling place that is a complete eyesore. For a “Journey KOA” this location is not very convenient to weary travelers.
We’ll NEVER stay at this KOA camp again. Terrible customer service. Save yourself the grief and stay somewhere else or drive to the next town.
Lovely campgrounds and camping cabin. The General Store, bathrooms, grounds and cabin were all immaculate. The check in process was simple, and we only wish we’d had more time to relax there.
We passed a unsitely site on the way in, with recycling or equipment storage. Once we turned off, to the KOA, it was out of site. This is a pretty and rustic campground. The woman, maybe the owner, is very kind. TV reception was poor. We are in the woods. The WIFI was great!
The bathroom is large, clean, great water pressure and plenty of hot water. The pool looked inviting, no debris. We enjoyed the quiet and peaceful Meridian)/Toomsuba KOA.
We received a warm welcome when we checked in to Meridian East/ Toomsuba KOA. Since we had made a reservation ahead of time, all we had to do was pay and be directed to our site. The campground is clean and appears well cared for. There are many trees which enhance the camping atmosphere. It's nice and quiet here, and we're looking forward to a good night sleep before we head out tomorrow.
