13 miles North of Iuka off Hwy 25. Turn onto County Road 989; follow County Road 989 until it intersects County Road 321. Turn right. The entrance to the park is approximately one mile.
Typical SP as far as campsites, crowding, and roads. Very clean bathrooms and showers...heated and cooled, very near campsites. TN river was beautiful. Walkups are welcomed but get there early...this place fills up early in day. Reserve at least 2 days before you arrive to ensure a spot. Two loops of sites...big loop has spots right on river but way too crowded for me. Smaller loop very close to river and sites a little larger.
A very nice park with pool access. My kids loved that. My smallest kid doesn't like swimming in the lake, which made having the pool close great bc there isn't much of a place to swim from the bank. We spent a night primitive camping, grilling (there is a grill provided), painting and whittling sticks. Once it got dark, there were no road lamps or otherwise so, It's important to remember to bring enough flash lights for everyone bc the roads aren't lit if you need to walk to the bathroom at night or just to get around your campsite at night in general. The restrooms were very clean and well stocked which says a lot considering it was a holiday weekend.
Very relaxing, fishing was great. Right time of the year that wasn't too crowded.
My daughter had her wedding here....great venue for a Fall wedding. Plenty of lodging for guests. Wonderful park manager who was very helpful and nice.
We camped here recently in site 22. The campground is nice with full hookups on most sites. We had a great lake view from our site and plenty of room to roam. The downfall here is that the sites aren’t aligned with the picnic table and grills. This makes it difficult to know which area is yours. Our neighbor ended up on our table because it was directly behind his rig but our stairs led down to the table. The park should consider numbering these parts of the sites as well.
There are a couple boat docks and a marina here along with a lodge. We were able to get out in our kayak without issue.
