There is no longer a Maples campground north of the Snowbasin Ski Resort. All picnic tables, firerings and restrooms have been removed. The public may still camp in the area, but must camp away from the trail that goes through the site. All access is walk-ins/bicycles/horses only, no motor vehicles, it is approximately 1/2 mile from the gate. The gate just off the pavement at the lower Snowbasin parking lot is the gravel trail/road to the area.
Absolutely gorgeous setting! We could not have asked for a more beautiful place to camp after a long day of driving.
The drive up was long and dusty, but this place was a great stop on our road trip. The spots all had a nice area to pitch a tent and tables to eat at. First come basis.
Rough access road for a 33' RV but we'll worth it. Complete solitude.
Extremely nice for a free campsite. Theres water at each spot, pit toilet, fire rings, picnic tables, under nice shady trees. Very well maintained too, there was a tractor leveling the road and a truck emptying the toilets when i was here
We arrived around 10pm on a busy weekend but were still able to find a few empty sites to choose from. It was very clean and beautiful and we met very friendly people. There are bathrooms and it was free.
