Welcome to Malibu Mountain, 13 acres of natural land at the crest of the Santa Monica Mountains. Bordered on two sides by national parkland, you will find peace and nature in abundance, along with incredible views across the Conejo Valley to the Topa Topa mountains. The Backbone Trail is at the end of the driveway, with the trailheads to Echo Cliffs (rock climbing) and Sandstone Peak just a few minutes drive up the road. PCH is just down the mountain for quick access to Malibu beaches and surf spots. Close to Malibu locales Neptunes Net, Leo Carillo, and Trancas Market.
The campsite is extremely private, surrounded by unspoiled national parkland, and well-insulated from other humans. There is only one campsite on the property. There is a small community of homes nearby, the closest being about 1/8 mile away. The neighbors are all up on the mountain for the same reasons we camp- peace, serenity, nature, open space, fresh air, and starry skies.
Site is available through reservation only, but can be booked last minute. This is not a commercial campground- there is no host on site and no amenities other than 30amp power and water hookups. There is a picnic table at the site. The pad is level gravel/dirt. Access is via a short dirt road, 2wd ok. Perfect for a campervan, but a small class C or small travel trailer are ok too.
Use the 2nd driveway to enter the property. GPS will take you to the main gate, the 2nd driveway is about 1/8 mile to the west on Yerba Buena Rd. There is a green water tank by the road, along with a small arrow sign. Follow the dirt driveway down around one switchback and the campsite is on your right as the road curves left. There is a sign. Park anywhere on the flat pad up top.
