Directions

To access the Levee Road from St. Martinville, take LA 96 to LA 679, then to LA 3083. Turn right onto Levee Road for 8 miles. There are two routes to Lake Fausse Pointe SP from I-10: (1) take Exit 115 to Henderson, heading south on LA 352; the park will be about 19 miles down the road, on the right; or (2) take Exit 121 to Butte LaRose, following LA 3177 to Butte LaRose, then turning west into LA 193 (Herman Dupuis Road), then south onto the levee road, LA 352. The park will be about 16 miles down the road, on the right. Please note that on the second route there is a pontoon bridge, just before the levee, that has a height restriction of 9.5 feet.

This Park is showing its age and requires some maintenance on individual sites, roads and trails. Washroom are good. **NO WIFI, PH SERVICE,MOBILE DATA*** Unless you have some fancy equipment.

Beautiful state park to camp, hike, canoe and fish. Tip: always pack your mosquito spray being surrounded by water and wooded areas your going to encounter them. We rent pavilion 1 once a year for an annual crawfish boil its a really nice facility and on the water. Its also in walking distance of the park, splash pad and trail walks. We visit regularly.

Stayed in a cabin with the hubby, kids, and godchild Fri & Sat night, thanks to my wonderful parents. It had been a few years since we've been and we all had a great time. Hubby & I rented a canoe for an hour, which was very nice. Rode bikes with the kids quite a bit, and walked on some trails.

My only 2 complaints is:

1. The beds are VERY uncomfortable. But they've always been, that's no big deal.

2. Their wifi service was not online, PLUS it was very hard to find spots with cell coverage and even when we did have coverage, the mobile data wouldn't work. Which really wasn't that huge of a deal until nighttime and the kids wanted to watch YouTube. But it's a small price to pay for all the fun we had!

Beautiful park with large level RV sites. The staff is incredibly friendly and helpful here. There isn't much for trees between the sites but the size of your "backyard" makes up for it. Great water pressure, no issues with the 30amp electricity and the dump station is close enough to make it easy. The laundry facilities were sufficient and cheap but everything looked a bit rusty and could use an upgrade. Both this and the complete lack of ANY cellular signal dropped the rating to 4 stars for us. The long nature trails were being repaired as we stayed and they were coming along beautifully. Highly recommend this place if your looking to disconnect with technology and reconnect with nature!
