Whether you are looking to hoof it, foot it, motor it, peddle it, or paddle it - we can serve as your basecamp to do it all!
Lost Moose is a remote campground nestled in the mountains of beautiful North Idaho where outdoor recreation opportunities abound!
It's easy! On I-90, take the Cataldo, Idaho exit (Exit 40), make a left to head south on S. Latour Creek Road and continue just a tad over 8 miles until you see our campground on the left.
It's a fairly level road with no steep grades; however, after the first two miles the paved road transitions to a county gravel road that can be dusty and sometimes potholey at certain times of the year.
Don't let your GPS talk you into a different route!
Wow what a great little campground! The road in is a little rough, but well worth it. We stayed in tent site #17 for 2 nights mid July 2022, which was on the creek with just enough privacy. The drop toilet was clean and the showers were great. The hosts and the owner were really kind so we spent a bit of time chatting to them about our home country, Australia. The wood and ice was so cheap we bought extra to take to our next camping stop. We played table tennis (ping pong) each night and relaxed after riding at nearby Silver Mountain Bike Park. I recommend other mountain bikers who plan to ride at this bike park to use this place as their base. It's clean, private and convenient.
Even though on the review it says rooms are hotel it's not it is a campground. There is a cabin for rent, but we camped. BEST Campground? Super clean honey buckets, even a separate shower area. SERVICE AND HOSTS ARE ABOVE AMAZING. Take the 8 Miles up dirt road for a real adventure and experience
Cute quiet campgrounds out in the middle of the woods with a beautiful Creek running right through it!!! Some of the nicest camp hosts and the cleanest vault bathroom and porta-potties that I've ever seen. They have two really clean showers and it's a great place to camp if you're not to hoity-toity!!!
Great campground with good amenities! Hosts are super friendly and the creek is calming to listen to while camping. Way up a gravel mountain road away from i90!
