This recreation area is part of Summersville Lake. Long Point campground sits at Long Point Trailhead, which is a 3.9 mile lightly trafficked out and back trail located near Summersville, West Virginia that features a lake and is good for all skill levels. The trail offers a number of activity options and is accessible year-round. Dogs are also able to use this trail.
I highly recommend staying at Long Point RV and Cabins! The owners were extremely welcoming and helpful. We had issues with our Fifth Wheel and they did everything they could to help us out. The sites are very spacious with a lot of grass. No issues backing in with our 40ft camper. We had plenty of room for our dogs to play outside. High speed wifi worked great. It was very quiet and peaceful. We had a great time and can't wait to come back!
With this place being new to the area. It's an awesome place to stay the people are friendly and very helpful.sites are perfect size.water/sewer/power hookups...great.very very clean.and pet friendly....thanks Christy great job great future ahead
This the worst place I've ever stayed the owner, Doug. Will keep your credit card on file so that if you accidentally leave any trash behind or bump over his sign do to The tight and crowded development of the park with no room. Was there for 2 months do to working in the area.I Gave notice to the current manager at the time that I was not going g Tobe around next month do to cancer. She said OK thank for the notice. This manager quit prior to me leaving with no notice to the owner Taking over. When owner found that I had left. He called cussing me out and threatened me. Then went looking for me thinking I went some were cheaper. Then went to my work asking were I went.this guy then threatened me again over the phone for bumping one his 5$solar light . And leaving a empty beer box behind by the firepit.this guy goes crazy on me and automatically charges my card 850$ for a box and a 5$ light.and then says he's charging for the weather proof of the water pipe. 250$..because he never new I left.and the septic is infested with Nats that were always coming up in trailer. Avoid the trouble with this guy Doug. This guy is very dishonest.. And then threatened to Sue me over the bad review.
Excellent place, and even better owners! Nice, quiet little campground that makes for the perfect getaway to summersville lake. I would recommend anyone coming to the area to check out this spot. The owners are a great reminder that there is still a lot of good in this world, great people!
We camped there the first weekend opened for Memorial Day!! Close to lake beach for swimming and many restaurants and trails. The campground sets right beside the long pointe overlook and made for a beautiful morning walk with our dog.. ( they are pet friendly yay!! ) The owners were very nice and helpful!! Book a stay with them this summer!! They have full hookups and will soon have cabins to rent.
